Crystal Reports
Crystal has been around a while and has refined its approach to reporting. For companies that have the money, Crystal is a good package for an out-the-box solution to creating reports and even for displaying them with log-in security on a web server. Crystal does have it limitations, however and we would not suggest Crystal (nor any reporting technology) as the only reporting technology used by a competitive company. Some reporting needs require less cost, less development time or more flexibility than Crystal provides. Nevertheless, Crystal is a standard that is not going away anytime soon and certainly has it's place in enterprise reporting. |
